Ten Important Precautions for Post-treatment Equipment of Screw Air Compressors

What precautions should be taken for post-treatment equipment of screw air compressors during daily operation?

  1. Do not install the equipment in locations exposed to direct sunlight, rain, wind, or where relative humidity exceeds 85%.

If operation in a corrosive gas environment is unavoidable, select dryers with anti-corrosion treated copper tubes or dryers equipped with stainless steel heat exchangers.

  2. Operating ambient temperature shall be kept below 40°C.

  3. Avoid environments with heavy dust, corrosive or flammable gas. Do not place the unit in vibrating areas or places where condensate may freeze.

  4. Maintain sufficient clearance from walls to ensure adequate ventilation.

  5. Ensure the compressed air inlet is correctly connected. Reserve sufficient maintenance space and install bypass piping for convenient servicing.

  6. Prevent vibration from the screw air compressor from being transmitted to the dryer. The weight of connecting pipelines shall not be directly supported by the dryer.

  7. Drainage pipes shall not be installed vertically upward, kinked or flattened.
  8. Allowable power supply voltage fluctuation range is less than ±10%. Install an earth leakage circuit breaker with appropriate capacity. The equipment must be grounded before use.
  9. Under the following conditions: excessively high compressed air inlet temperature, ambient temperature above 40°C, actual airflow exceeding rated processing capacity,

  10. voltage fluctuation over ±10%, and poor ventilation (ventilation is required even in winter to avoid indoor temperature rise), the protection circuit will be activated, the indicator light will turn off, and the unit will stop running.

  1. The drain port of the normally open (N.O.) automatic drainer can only be closed when air pressure exceeds 0.15 MPa.

  2. If the water output of the screw air compressor is too low, the drain port stays open and compressed air will continuously blow out.

  3. Poor compressed air quality with dust and oil contaminants will adhere to the heat exchanger, reducing its efficiency and causing frequent drainage failures.

  4. It is recommended to install a filter at the dryer inlet, and ensure drainage at least once per day.

  5. Clean the ventilation openings of the dryer with a vacuum cleaner once a month.
  6. Switch on the power supply and wait until stable operation is achieved before feeding compressed air. After shutdown, wait for at least 3 minutes before restarting.
  7. If automatic drainers are used, regularly inspect their drainage function. Frequently clear dust accumulated on the condenser.

  8. Check refrigerant pressure regularly to judge refrigerant leakage and performance changes of the refrigerated air dryer. Verify whether the temperature of discharged condensate is normal.
