How to Add Lubricating Oil to Fluorine Refrigeration Compressors

Before refilling lubricating oil into a fluorine refrigeration compressor, confirm the compressor brand and model, and use the matching lubricating oil.
Available Oil Filling Methods for Fluorine Refrigeration Compressors
1. Oil filling via dedicated oil filler port
Operating procedures:

a. First close the suction stop valve of the refrigeration compressor. Start the compressor and discharge refrigerant inside the crankcase into the condenser.

To avoid liquid slugging during this process, start and stop the compressor intermittently several times.

Shut down the unit once the internal pressure of the compressor approaches atmospheric pressure, then close the discharge stop valve.

b. Remove the plug of the oil filler port. Attach a funnel and pour oil into the filler port until the oil level reaches the specified oil line, then stop filling.
c. After oil filling, reinstall the funnel and securely tighten the oil plug. Open the suction stop valve and discharge stop valve of the compressor.
2. Supplement refrigeration oil by drawing oil through the bypass port of the suction stop valve
Operating procedures:

a. Close the compressor suction stop valve and start the refrigeration compressor. Discharge refrigerant in the crankcase into the condenser,

then shut down the compressor and close the discharge stop valve. Remove the screw plug on the bypass port of the discharge stop valve to vent residual gas inside the high-pressure chamber. Next,

remove the screw plug on the bypass port of the suction stop valve, and install a tapered threaded connector and copper pipe.

b. Block the oil suction pipe opening with a finger and start the compressor to evacuate air from the crankcase.

Stop the compressor when a strong suction force is felt on the finger, indicating the crankcase has reached a vacuum state.

c. Place the oil suction pipe into prepared refrigeration oil and release the finger to start oil suction. Stop filling once the oil level reaches the normal range.
d. After oil filling, remove the copper pipe and connector, and fasten all screw plugs. Restart the compressor. Tighten the screw plug of the discharge stop valve once no exhaust sound can be heard.
e. Ensure both the suction and discharge stop valves are opened after completing the oil filling work.
Notes
This method is more applicable to small compressors requiring a small amount of supplementary oil.
If the oil suction pipe stops drawing liquid before the required amount of refrigeration oil is added, repeat step b.
