Compressed air is widely used in the printed circuit board (PCB) industry. The PCB manufacturing sector is a high-energy-consuming industry that produces high-precision electronic products.
The air blowing processes in production impose strict requirements on compressed air quality. Insufficient moisture removal is an urgent problem that PCB manufacturers need to resolve.
The production department constantly complains that water exists in air-consuming equipment, disrupting production.
Factories have imported high-speed drilling machines, yet the actual operating speed only reaches one-third of the rated speed.
Pneumatic drill bits feature low energy consumption and can achieve a drilling frequency of 300,000 cycles, so they are widely adopted by most manufacturers. However,
pneumatic drill bits consume a large volume of compressed air. Excessive moisture in the air supply leads to unstable drilling speed of drilling machines,
damage to pneumatic components, and ultimately poor product quality and higher reject rates.
Furthermore, poor compressed air quality causes contamination of solenoid valves and air cylinders, inconsistent spindle drilling speed, and breakdowns of electronic testing equipment,
exposure machines, drilling machines and optical inspection equipment.
For PCB manufacturers with high air consumption, a pressure dew point of -20°C on average is required to guarantee circuit board quality. Nevertheless,
the prevailing pressure dew point in the PCB industry currently averages +10°C, which generally fails to meet standards and results in high reject rates.
The PCB industry is one of the most dynamic and highly competitive sectors within the electronic component industry. To survive fierce market competition,
it is essential for manufacturers to adopt dryer equipment to upgrade production processes and improve finished product yield.
