How to Properly Configure Air Compressor Post-Treatment Equipment

Enterprises have different quality requirements for compressed air, which leads to different configurations of post-treatment equipment for screw air compressors. 

Higher standards for compressed air require multi-stage filtration, while applications with lower requirements can adopt a simpler post-treatment combination. 

This article introduces the performance of different configurations and explains how to reasonably match air compressor post-treatment equipment according to practical application demands.

Air compressors generate compressed air mixed with oil, moisture and particulate impurities. Although the oil-gas separator separates lubricating oil from compressed air, 

trace oil will still flow downstream with the airflow. Hence, post-treatment equipment including refrigerated air dryers, filters and oil-water separators shall be installed. 

Refrigerated air dryers are mainly used for moisture removal, and precision filters are adopted to eliminate oil aerosols and airborne contaminants.

Compressed air filters are designed to remove pollutants inside the compressed air system, such as iron filings, dust, oil and hydrocarbon mist. 

They supply high-quality compressed air that meets production requirements and serve as essential filtering facilities for factories and laboratories. 

A standard filter consists of a top cover, middle housing and bottom housing. Two round holes are arranged on both the top cover and middle housing. 

Two aluminum barrels are installed side by side between the aligned holes to form the first and second filter chambers. The bottom of the lower housing is connected to a drain assembly via a connector, 

and a float is installed inside the drainer.

After purification by the above air compressor post-treatment equipment, clean compressed air free of moisture and oil can be obtained.
