First-stage coalescing is where bulk oil aerosol and wet dust get knocked out before they ever reach the dryer bed. 2901200305 is Atlas Copco’s FILTER KIT DD130+ (DD/DDp 130+ series), a general-purpose coalescing element for compressed air treatment lines on oil-injected screw packages . It strips liquid water and oil aerosols down to ~0.1 mg/m³ (≈0.1 ppm) and captures particles around 1 µm, while the outer foam drainage layer lets merged droplets fall to the bowl instead of re-entraining into the air stream.

A loaded DD element does not usually fail loud—it quietly raises DP, forces the PD stage and dryer to overwork, and lets oil mist bleed forward into instruments and finish lines. Swap on DP alarm or the normal 4000 h / annual window; sooner in oily, humid, or dusty site air. During service, isolate the housing, bleed to zero, drain the bowl, wipe both seal faces, and push the new cartridge home squarely—most “still oily after change” complaints come from a twisted O-ring or a reused bowl gasket, not from the media.
