Importance of Air Filter for Screw Air Compressor

The air filter serves as one of the protective barriers for screw air compressors. 

Therefore, high-quality air filters shall be selected to facilitate energy saving.

The advantages of adopting high-quality air filters are as follows:
1. High filtration precision of air filter
It can effectively reduce the adverse impact of dust on lubricating oil, oil separator and internal components.

If an air filter with low filtration precision is used, excessive dust ingress will deteriorate the stability of lubricating oil, 

raise oil viscosity and increase the operating resistance of the screw air compressor. Under the same displacement, the operating current will inevitably rise.

2. Reduced dust accumulation on the surface of oil separator and improved stability of oil separator
Dust buildup on the oil separator will elevate internal pressure difference, which also leads to higher current under identical air output.
A filter with high precision brings low suction resistance and helps save energy. High resistance of clogged air filter simply causes unnecessary power waste.
3. Blocks moisture in the air to achieve energy conservation

In rainy seasons with high ambient humidity, the risk of oil carry-over rises significantly. Conventional ordinary air filters cannot intercept part of the moisture. 

Excessive water inside the oil system reduces lubricant viscosity, resulting in oil entrainment with compressed air.

To guarantee stable operation of the screw air compressor, the air filter needs to be replaced regularly. Strict service intervals are specified for air filter replacement, 

and the actual replacement cycle can be adjusted according to on-site operating conditions.
