Eight Tips to Extend the Service Life of Refrigerated Air Dryers

Post-treatment equipment is widely adopted in numerous industries at present, among which refrigerated air dryers are indispensable.

Below, together with senior maintenance engineers from SaZhen Energy-saving Air Compressors, we introduce the daily maintenance requirements for refrigerated air dryers.

Refrigerated air dryers are applied in many sectors, including tobacco, textile, printing, rubber, chemical fiber, food packaging, electronics,

instrumentation and precision machinery industries. It is obvious that enterprises have growing demand for refrigerated air dryers. Therefore,

proper maintenance of such dryers is critical. The following maintenance guidelines are for reference:

Discharge condensate regularly.
Observe and record instrument readings four times per shift.
Inspect hoses and all pipe fittings for leakage.
Check the electrical control system: blow away dust and tighten wiring terminals.
Frequently monitor the inlet temperatures of the cooling water system and compressed air system.
Regularly inspect drainage and blowdown systems:

① Clean the float drainer approximately once a week.

② Perform blowdown on drain pipes every week.

Touch both sides of the dryer every week; the temperature difference should not be excessive.
Frequently monitor the refrigeration system:

① Touch the refrigerant compressor at least once every day. Under normal working conditions, it should feel cold with frost formation.

② Inspect the filter drier.
Check the cooling water flow of the refrigerated air dryer. Additional inspection items for the dryer:

A. Confirm whether the cooling water blowdown valves on the inlet and outlet pipelines are closed.

B. Open the cooling water inlet valve.

C. Open the cooling water flow regulating valve if its setting remains unchanged since the last startup.
