The valve lets oil or air move one way and blocks reverse flow during stop, unload, or system backpressure; the kit refreshes seals, discs, and wear parts so the stop function stays crisp instead of weeping.

A lazy seat or stuck disc shows up as oil migration after shutdown, slow pressure build, air loss at idle, or faults that get blamed on the separator. Rebuild on overhaul or at the first sign of backflow—never reuse old O-rings over the new set.
