Oil temperature decides lubrication film, carbon buildup, and how often the machine trips on high heat. 2901161600 is Atlas Copco's 40°C thermostat kit for oil-injected screw compressors, supplying the thermostatic element plus seals for the oil temperature control valve. Below setpoint it bypasses the cooler so the airend reaches working temperature fast; as oil warms, flow shifts toward the cooler to hold the operating window and prevent overheating.

A stuck or lazy element is a classic hidden fault—cold-running oil, moisture in the system, repeated high-temp shutdowns, or sluggish warm-up all point back to it. Replace the kit on scheduled service or when temperature control drifts, and never reuse old O-rings over the new set.
